I'm really interested if you are using any of those combinations and if you think if they do or do not have any affect on the gameplay. I'm very confident that #6 works as it sometimes activates a custom animation where you player jumps/gallops across the defender. R1 + R2 when not sprinting to push the ball into a direction and create some space. By tapping (or holding?) L2 + a direction it seems like my players have consistently better touch when under pressure from a defender. I'm sure 100% of you have experienced a first touch that activates a prolonged animation that you cannot get out of and you never have a 2nd touch because you are easily dispossessed. L2 + L1 (when not sprinting or you *just* let go of the spring) - sharper turn. It's a very minor and subtle change that I feel it's there but who knows.
I feel like my player has better chances of passing through a defender compared to just R1 dribbling. I'm undecided if it works while you hold it or if you just tap it (or if it works at all lol) With L2 I feel like my players hold their balance better. A lot of the time on Legend, the way the AI tackles you is to simply piledrive you body-to-body which unbalances your player and they take the ball. I experimented with other combinations so it's not only L2 combinations that you'll find below. I also searched past threads but people seem to quite divided on it. However, using the L2, I felt that my players reacted better in certain situations - I couldn't find official confirmation from KONAMI so I thought it'd be best to turn to reddit PES community for opinions.

After watching KnightMD's manual passing video on YouTube (off topic but strongly recommend you do as well), I decided to migrate to manual passing gradually - by incorporating manual passes here & there so I can get the gist of it before fully switching. The L2 (LT on Xbox) is a button to activate the manual controls (shots & passes). Anyway, rant over for tackling but it's quite annoying and unenjoyable.
Instead of building a system for this, Konami decided to resolve that issue by adding a stumbling animation and taking away control for a second to make sure that "successful" (=defender hit the ball) tackles result in changing possession. Obviously a lot of praying involved on Legend as the ball has its own mind and always try to go back to the AI. 99% of the defensive gameplay is cutting passing lanes or waiting for a heavy touch so you can "tackle". It's just "hold X" then try to time it somewhat and whatever the engine deems appropriate happens. I'll start by saying that one of the most annoying gameplay "features" for me is the complete lack of a real tackling system.

Bear in mind that I'm 100% offline player and all of this is from playing against the AI on Legend. I hope with your help we can get enough confirmation and opinions how different inputs affect the gameplay. I've been playing around with some different button combinations in the past few days and I cannot decide if those are real features or if I'm simply seeing things that are not there.
